There are some things we really love to use, some more than others, and then there are things that we rarely use, but when you need them - oh baby! nothing can beat it!
My first Fav is my Kitchen Aide Stand Mixer i finally own a
KitchenAid KP26M1XCE Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Copper Pearl
- Two slicing and two shredding cones included
- Grinder has fine and coarse grinding blades
- Includes food grinder, slicer and shredder, and fruit and vegetable strainer
This baby is something i had wanted since i was in my teens - 40 yrs later - i bit the bullet and bought it.
And i use it almost every single day. I have began a extra side line business with my Baked Goods because of this beauty. I was right too, I was missing something.
For 20+ years I was a single mom with big financial responsibilities - i considered this a luxury that could wait.
Today there are ways you can purchase things like this easier. Though as much as i love it - Please be aware of your budget 1st. Know what you can afford or not. If you can't afford it DON'T BUY IT. I didn't. If you can afford it you can purchase one right now from me at:

If you have a little play room - try thrift shops, 2nd hand stores, yard sales, moving sales, tag sales. There are many people out there who buy these babies and then they don't use them. On-Line Craig's List, e-Bay - and then of course there are payment plans with HSN or QVC.
About 10 years ago i bought a very high end $900 Pasta Machine - used on eBay for about $100 in its original box. Most of the disks were still wrapped.
You might try your own listing on Craig's List saying that you are looking to buy...
Don't be afraid of used Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers. They are built to last longer than us. Most are handed down, and all are repairable.
One more question? Will you use it? Really? It can save you a lot of money if you do.
3 Eggs - 2 1/2 Cups of Flour and 4 Tablespoons of water makes the best Pasta you will ever have - feeds 4-6 people easily. Can be thick or thin Spaghetti or linguine, lasagna, macaroni.
The beauty of Pasta, besides the low cost, is you can:
- make it far in advance, dry and store it.
- add whatever you like for flavors
- use specialty, or organic flours (that's how they get the Tri-colors)
- add veggies like spinach - you really don't taste but boy is it good for you
- leave out the Egg Yolks and reduce cholesterol
- there are Gluten Free Flours available now - allowing you to make pasta and breads at a fraction of store costs
- You know what you are eating
This machine as so many uses - the Dough Hook is fantastic for making breads. At my age the arthritis in my hands stopped me from making our own breads - now I am back at it. There will be more uses in recipes as i post them.
Enjoy..... and
